Entertainment Weekly - 20 Best Reality-TV Shows Ever

Postby gapkid » Tue Jun 16, 2009 6:07 am

In a June 2009 issue of Entertainment Weekly, they recently featured an article about the 20 Best Reality TV Shows EVER. You can find a shortened article online at http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20282998,00.html.

Naturally, our favorite red-headed Oprah did not make the list. :smt013

I know there's a question whether Kathy Griffin's celebrity status should still be considered "D-List," but with the recent article about TV's Best Reality Shows Ever, there's no doubt that Kathy is still D-List. Winner of two Emmys for Best Reality Show for the past two years...and she doesn't even make the list of 20 best reality shows ever. Who beats her out? Media gagfest "Jon & Kate Plus Eight." The moronic "Blind Date." The not-good-enough-for-more-than-one-season "Bands on the Run." The can't-get-a-date-on-my-own-despite-being-dropdead-gorgeous "The Bachelor." "The Osbournes" and their crapping dogs. Guys nailing each other in the nuts on "Jackass." All of these beat out the hilarious, two-time Emmy-winning, and cleverly assembled "Kathy Griffin: My Life On The D-List." Here's to the D-List, Kathy! Apparently you'll always reign as its lifelong Queen! Now if only I could get my dog to crap on this issue of Entertainment Weekly...

Only reason I'd find this to be sort of baffling is because she's won two Emmy's for... wait for it... best reality show and isn't on the list. lol Actually, it's a little more funny than baffling, in a very sad kinda way. =P

But this list is kind of iffy anyway. Blind Date was on there. Are they serious with that? Might was well rank in Cheaters as well. lol Oh wait, how about Date My Mom? No?

I was surprised they put The Osbournes in the top 10. I LOVED that show, but I probably wouldn't have ranked it so high compared to some other shows. And The Hills, ugh. That show doesn't deserve to be on any kind of list.

People who don't think she's funny can't laugh at themselves. That's the main problem. Many people in this country take themselves WAY too seriously, and when they want comedy, they want to see idiots doing the same old thing instead of comedians who are unpredictable. You never know what will come out of her mouth, and I think that's why A-List Hollywood and the general public are scared of her. Such a shame, this country NEEDS her and more people like her! She has the BEST attitude and just laughs at everything, including herself. Get OVER yourselves America! Laugh! And laugh with Kathy!

No kidding, D-List should be on there.

Ew on Flavor of Love, the Hills, and Plus 8... but I've had some good laughs over the years with Blind Date and the Real World before "reality tv" was a real thing and Jackass can make me laugh any day of the week even if I've seen it 20 times. Where the heck are Temptation Island or Paradise Island though?

It just shows what Kathy has been saying all along. How the industry neglects women, especially successful, self-made women. AND how they've neglected Kathy because of the infamous, HONEST things she says and her perspective on the industry.

I love to watch tv, i think reality shows are fake shows every thing is pre planed in reality shows. my favorite tv shows are , Prison Break and My Name Is Earl. Both tv shows are awesome shows. One is comedy show and the other one is thrill action crime drama show. I never miss these show.

I can only guess they don't consider 'D-List' a "real" reality show, but more of a comedy or improv thing...

She's a true talent and what I love, is that so many reality shows start, and then others follow suit. Kathy's style and show are unique, can't be repeated, and is true to the person she is!! She deserves every award and kudos she gets! :D
