Some years ago a film critic named Gene Siskel, upon whom I depended to lead me through the vast caverns of bad and boring movies died and left me rudderless as to picking winners to the point that I seldom go out to any overpriced, overhyped flicks at all anymore. Recently, another man bowed out of our world and left in me a void that I did not think I would ever be able to fill either. That man was George Carlin, a funny old guy who had been a funny young guy when I first watched him entertain on Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. Frankly, I do not know how Ms Kathy Griffin felt about Mr Carlin and I certainly do not wish to offend, but I would like to say that she embodies a great deal of the humor and humanity of the man. That others may be offended by HER so reminds me of HIM. Thank you so much for taking no prisoners, fogging up so many rose-colored glasses and strutting your stuff - unarmed and without a net.
